Welcome to the Climigrant Project!

Our page contains a number of resources for students, teachers, researchers, decision-makers, healthcare workers, and anyone else interested in learning about the impact of climate change on human health and migration.

The Stories

Click here to discover our illustrated short stories about the experience of climate migrants in the West Island of Montréal, the Kiribati islands in the South Pacific, and Dominica in the Carribean. In addition to being educational tools themselves, these stories are also part of our educational toolkit for elementary and high school students and teachers!

The Videos.

Our first videos take us to rural Ayacucho, Peru, where climate disruptions affect daily life and drive migration. They give voice to those experiencing the loss of land, identity, and ancestral practices.

The Podcasts

We have recorded podcasts (in French only) during which we interviewed both people affected by extreme weather events and service providers who respond to such events.

The Course

Our online minicourse was designed to provide continuing education to healthcare workers, students, teachers, researchers, decision-makers, and any other interested party about climate change, migration, and health. Sign up to hear over twenty experts speak about the physical and mental impacts of climate change, issues with climate governance, various vulnerability factors in local, Indigenous, and global populations, and much more. The Faculty of Nursing at Université de Montréal considers completion of this minicourse to be equivalent to 8 accredited training hours.

The Toolkit

Our pedagogical toolkit aims to help elementary and secondary school teachers address climate change, health, and migration in their classrooms. The toolkit was specially conceived and adapted to fit into the Québec Education Program (QEP). Click here to learn more!
